Janamashtmi and Vrakshabandhan

Our school vibrant with cultural fervor as students gathered to celebrate Janmashtami and promote environmental conservation through a special assembly. The event featured soulful group songs, a captivating dance-drama depicting the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. Following the festive performances, students extended the spirit of protection and care by tying Rakhis to the trees in the school Science park. This symbolic gesture reinforced their pledge to protect nature, perfectly blending traditional values with a strong message of environmental protection.

 

Empirical Formula of Magnesium Oxide

 In this practical activity, a weighed sample of magnesium ribbon was strongly heated in a crucible, lifting the lid periodically to admit oxygen while preventing oxide smoke from escaping until constant mass was achieved and confirmed the empirical formula as MgO.

Investigating How We See things

 Students used a shoe box model to explore how light enables vision. By looking into the dark box, they discovered that objects inside remain invisible without light. Shining a flashlight through a second hole allowed them to see the object clearly, proving that light must reflect from a source into our eyes for sight to occur.

Simple Filter

In this activity, Stage 3 students explored the process of filtration by separating a mixture of sand and water. Using filter paper lined inside a funnel,  poured the cloudy mixture through. Students observed how the porous paper successfully trapped the solid sand particles as residue, while allowing the clean, filtered liquid to pass into the beaker below as filtrate.
